Ketu in the 6th House

Ripu Bhavaenemies, debts, disease, service, daily work

Among Ketu’s best placements. In the house of enemies and disease, its dissolving quality removes rather than fights — opposition tends to evaporate rather than being defeated, and there is genuine healing capacity, often in unconventional medicine. Debts resolve in unexpected ways. Service comes naturally and without much need for credit.

Classical note: Dusthana — Ketu dissolves the difficulties of the house it occupies.

The house and the graha

The 6th house is the obstacles you overcome by labour, governing enemies, debts, disease, service, daily work. Ketu (Ketu) is a shadow planet — subtracting, dissolving, revealing and signifies detachment, moksha, past karma, insight; its drive is to renounce, to see through, and to finish unfinished karma.

The house's nature

The 6th is a dusthana (difficult house), where planets deliver results through struggle, delay, or transformation. Interestingly, a malefic like Ketu often performs *better* in a dusthana than a benefic would — classical astrology holds that malefics in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th (the upachaya houses) and in dusthanas can destroy the difficulty rather than suffer it.

What changes the reading

Three things modify this placement more than anything else: the sign Ketu occupies (see Ketu through the signs), the aspects it receives — Jupiter's aspect can rescue a difficult placement and Saturn's can sober an easy one — and the strength of the 6th house lord. Read this as one factor, not a verdict.
