One of Saturn’s best placements. In the house of enemies, debt and service, endurance simply outlasts opposition — litigation is won by persistence, competitors are outworked, and chronic problems get managed rather than solved dramatically. Excellent for medicine, law, unions and any long institutional fight.
Classical note: Dusthana and upachaya both — a malefic here destroys the difficulty rather than suffering it.
The 6th house is the obstacles you overcome by labour, governing enemies, debts, disease, service, daily work. Saturn (Shani) is the great malefic — and the great teacher and signifies discipline, longevity, labour, delay, detachment; its drive is to endure, to structure, and to earn slowly what cannot be given.
The 6th is a dusthana (difficult house), where planets deliver results through struggle, delay, or transformation. Interestingly, a malefic like Saturn often performs *better* in a dusthana than a benefic would — classical astrology holds that malefics in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th (the upachaya houses) and in dusthanas can destroy the difficulty rather than suffer it.
Three things modify this placement more than anything else: the sign Saturn occupies (see Saturn through the signs), the aspects it receives — Jupiter's aspect can rescue a difficult placement and Saturn's can sober an easy one — and the strength of the 6th house lord.
